Babe Ruth chase figure sells for $13,600

The rarest McFarlane SportsPicks Toy ever produced, a Babe Ruth limited to just three copies, sold for $13,600 on Sunday.
The figure, which sold in a Beckett Select Auction on eBay, features Ruth wearing a blue cap instead of the standard white cap found on figures from the 2009 Cooperstown Collection. The figure was found in a case at Dale'z Kardz & Komicz in Colorado Springs, Colo. The figure has blue McFarlane logo security tape
on the back of the package to prevent tampering.
The auction closed after 50 bids and had more than 12,000 views.
The previous high paid for for a SportsPicks figure was approximately $8,500 for a Teemu Selanne variant in a Winnipeg Jets Uniform. That figure, limited to 13 copies, had his uniform number as 13.
