CAUTION: Hardcore football collectors, especially those with an affinity for drool-worthy rookie autographs, may want to sit down before reading any further.
OK . . .
Panini America today released exclusively to Beckett Media the stunning ensemble known as 2009 Pen Pals, a 31-card, 84-autograph insert slated to drop in the late-January release of 2009 National Treasures Football.
Pen Pals, annually one of football’s most sought after autographed inserts since its inception way back in 1998, first made a splash in the industry by pairing prestigious penmanship from some of the top quarterbacks of all time on one card. More recently, the insert has evolved to focus on rookies.
For football collectors, this year’s Pen Pals insert — with its on-card signatures and ink-color variations — no doubt will rank as one of Panini’s biggest coups from last May’s NFL Players Rookie Premiere.

Same photos used over and over with different colored inks. At least come up with something creative

I'm not too impressed with the design. It looks to me like an insert from PressPass SE...The different color inks is even a PressPass thing to do....

Lets see, coming out lat jan and their in college uniforms? What kinda crap is that? What up with the different colored ink on cards. If you can't afford to use a black pen for all the auto i can spare one for you! Same old thing over and over by these companies and the prices of the boxes keep going up while the value of the cards goes ddddooooooowwwwwnnnnnn like airline stock

Instead of releasing an ultra high-end product with a well-executed rookie 'graph set, I agree... this looks like something Press Pass would've come out with. College uniforms? I wouldn't invest in one of these, I'd rather snag an SP or SPx rookie auto.

I DO like the "Money" Mike Thomas auto. That's pretty unusual that they would allow something like that to go into a high end product.

Looking for Any KC Royals Cards. Also looking for reasonable A-Rod Cards.
Will buy most Greinke cards.

This is a great looking draft pick product that would come out in June. But its coming out now in college uniforms? Really?

the prices they charge, for a premium product like National Treasures....you would think it would look a little better.....I think the UD Black looks much better than this & prices are close. I personally haven't liked much that Paninis done (in FB or BBall), like stated in current BSCM...some of their stuff has no variety from product to product. Its sad, because they have a corner on the BBall card market & I hope they start producing better stuff (not so "busy" on the simple base cards)
